MICHAEL MCDOWELL (DRIVER QUOTE)
“First off I want to thank the Russell family for being with us today and the service and sacrifice of Corporal Ryan D. Russell, whose name was on our car tonight.  We just didn’t have the speed to progress like we wanted to.  I’m proud of the guys and Wally made some great calls in the pits in to keep us up in position.  We have a few weeks off and then head to Sonoma.  I’m excited to get to road course racing and change it up a bit.”

WALLY ROGERS (CREW CHIEF QUOTE)
“Driving to the race track on the day of the Coca-Cola 600 is always a cool moment – because of the Memorial Day celebrations and honoring our military.  I’m proud of all the effort the guys have put in over the past few weeks to get us here.  The extra work associated with the fire at the race shop did not help – but we kept our heads down and got the work done.  Overall, we were able to maintain position throughout the 600 miles.  Unfortunately, at the end, we ran out of fuel and had to come in to pit.  The left rear wheel was loose as McDowell was exiting the pits and he had to come right back in.  So that hurt our final finishing position.  We’ll look toward Sonoma and start preparing for some road course action.”

NEXT RACE
